About Samantha Diver
Samantha Diver is an experienced educator and Executive Function Skills Coach who helps students develop the skills they need to become more organized, confident, and independent learners.
Throughout her career in education, Samantha has served in a variety of leadership and teaching roles, including Interim Head of School at The Pilot School, classroom teacher, reading specialist, math specialist, and learning specialist. This broad experience gives her a unique understanding of both the academic demands students face and the executive function skills they need to successfully navigate them.
Samantha works individually with students to strengthen essential skills such as planning, organization, time management, task initiation, working memory, sustained attention, study strategies, and self-monitoring. Using each student's actual academic responsibilities — assignments, syllabi, tests, long-term projects, and extracurricular commitments — she helps students develop practical systems and strategies they can use in their everyday lives.
A central focus of Samantha's coaching is metacognition — teaching students to understand how they learn. Rather than simply helping students complete an assignment, she encourages them to reflect on what strategies are working, recognize where they are getting stuck, and develop the confidence to adjust their approach. The ultimate goal is greater independence and less reliance on parents and teachers to manage academic responsibilities.
Samantha also brings extensive training in mindfulness and social-emotional learning to her executive function coaching. She incorporates mindfulness strategies when appropriate to help students strengthen emotional regulation, manage stress, improve focus, and approach challenges with greater awareness and resilience.
Samantha believes that executive function skills are not simply school skills — they are life skills. Her goal is to give students practical tools they can carry into high school, college, and adulthood while helping them become more confident in their ability to manage their own learning.
